# Does a Firm Need to Look at Any of This?

If you do the same things, are you sustainable? Do you need to make investments? Are you missing an opportunity window? M&A and PE may be the path some need to survive and plug into already established resources like technology and talent. For others, it may not be the right option, but you will need an airtight plan if you want to go it alone. 

# The Private Equity Factor

It is a real accounting change agent. Do not assume it is not viable. The misinformation on how deals work, values are set, and where PE is planning to go is alarming. Even if you are dead set against PE, examine your options. Make sure you are dealing with the right source because there are groups making offers who do not clearly understand this profession.
